Baby Steps

I used the single stamp "Baby Steps" to make this card. I adhered the elephants stamped in Daffodil Delight and Marina Mist onto Early Espresso card stock trimmed on the bottom with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The background was made with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder run through the Big Shot, layered on Marina Mist card stock, and then layered again on a Whisper White card base. The Daffodil Delight 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon finishes it off.

In the Neighborhood

It seems like a lot of people we know are moving or are going to be moving soon. Moving can be hard. It's not just the physical move of your "stuff" from one place to another, but it's all the emotional ties and memories from the home you are leaving. I could write volumes about my move a couple of years ago, but let's just say I was missing home and family this weekend after a painful emergency oral surgery.

Today is a much better day and I wanted to share this colorful card made from the jumbo wheel "Neighborhood". I stamped it with Basic Black on Whisper White and then again on four colors: Poppy Parade, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, and Marina Mist. I cut out each little house and adhered it to the corresponding one on the white piece. Then, I mounted this on a strip of Marina Mist and on a Daffodil Delight card. Last, I added a Poppy Parade 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon. Happy Monday!

Pick a Poppy

Here's a springy little card using "A Slice of Life". I stamped the image in black and used the Poppy Parade marker to color in the flowers. I stamped the vase again on the turquoise paper, cut it out, and adhered it on top of the original vase. The two coordinating DSP in the background are from Pawsitively Prints. I added a Poppy Parade 1/2" Stitched-Poly ribbon and three little flowers with silver brads on the bottom. Thanks Sandie for the inspiration on this card.

Wasabi & Eggplant

What do you think of these colors together: Wild Wasabi and Elegant Eggplant? I used the set "Bold Blossom" from the Occasions Mini. The Wasabi polka dot background paper is from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack. I punched out this shape using the Top Note Die on my Big Shot. The Eggplant little flower background was made with the Boho Blossoms Punch and the top layer flower stamped with Eggplant was made with the 3/4" Circle Punch and popped up with a dimensional. Finally, the words were stamped then punched with the Oval Large Punch and the background with the Scallop Oval XL Punch.

First Edition

I used two DSP for this card: "First Edition" and "Greenhouse Gala". I stamped the image and word with "Bliss" from Sale-A-Bration (which ends soon). I made the trim with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and layered "Bliss" with the Oval Large and Scallop Oval Punches. Colors are Basic Black and Daffodil Delight.

Poppy Parade Polka Dots

One of my favorite In Colors is "Poppy Parade". It's happy, bright, and just the right color of poppy, but this picture just doesn't do it justice. I used the new Build a Cupcake Punch and the words are from "Bring on the Cake" punched with the Large Oval Punch and mounted on Early Espresso made with the Decorative Label Punch. I also used the Poppy Parade marker in the Color Spritzer Tool to make the splatters (is that a word?). The background DSP is part of the Level 1 Hostess Gift In Color Paper Pack. Finally, the ribbon is Poppy Parade 1/2" Stitched-Poly.

Green Fountain

In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, the town of Fountain Hills puts green dye in the fountain at noon. It draws a huge crowd and is fun to see!

This year I was fortunate enough to have a picnic date for the event. He's visiting from Utah during his Spring Break from college.

As you can see below, Jorden's humorous actions have completely matured from the picture on the left taken in 2007 and the picture on the right taken today. He drew the name from the hat for the give away and picked Kim. Congrats--I'll mail your card stock assortment to you.

Got Green?

This card was made with "Got Treats" using Wild Wasabi and Crumb Cake. Words are from "Teeny Tiny Wishes". Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day on Thursday! I will post the winner of the give away Thursday evening.

Blogversary & Give Away

It's been one year since I started my blog last March--how time flies. I decided it was due for a change as well, so I'm very excited to share my updated blog! My daughter (see her button "To a T" below right) did all the work from my description over the phone. She knows my taste almost too well and designed exactly what I envisioned.

So, in honor of one year in blogger land I am celebrating with a give away. Please leave a comment between now and Thursday night and your name will be entered in a drawing for a FREE card stock sampler of fun colors from Stampin' Up!

Oh Baby

I just think this sleeper from "A Slice of Life" is just so dang cute and I can't put it away! The DSP is called "Nursery Suite" and has both "girl" colors in Regal Rose, So Saffron, and Early Espresso and "boy" colors Baja Breeze, Old Olive, and Early Espresso. The words are from "A Word for You" and I used the Oval Large and Scallop Oval Punches. You probably caught the "Perfect Polka Dots" done in Whisper White on the top half of the card.

Fun Flowers

These flowers were cut out with the new die called Fun Flowers (thanks Kathy) from the Occasions Mini Catalog. We used In Color DSP from the hostess set in the big catalog in Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait. The edges of the DSP were made using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. Words for the top card are from "So Happy for You" (SAB) and the bottom one from "A Word for You".

Bright Birthday

This was a fun card to make with all the bright colors. I stamped the cake using "A Slice of Life" and colored it with Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight markers. The words are from "So Happy for You" and the DSP is Ice Cream Parlor--both from SAB. I made the Tempting Turquoise strip down the middle by using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and added a button from the Springtime Vintage Buttons Pack.

Finally!

I finally finished this project that I started last spring. I only work on it once in awhile and as you can see from the intricate basket weave pattern it took some time to knit. I had been making blue things for the past three years and thought it would be fun to do something pink. So, I made this little afghan using a color called "Bubblegum". I'll just tuck it away in case we ever have a little "pink one" in the family.

Celebrations

I used the DSP "Celebrations" to make these two cards--see six of the twelve designs below. They coordinate nicely with this stamp set "Bring on the Cake" from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Colors are Bashful Blue, Real Red, Old Olive, and Pacific Point. The stars on the bottom card were made with the XL Star Punch and popped up with dimensionals.

A Slice of Life

I'm just lovin' this new hostess set "A Slice of Life". I stamped the image on Very Vanilla and colored the flowers with a Marina Mist marker. Then I stamped just the vase on Crumb Cake that I had run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and cut it out. It was actually an extra piece from the Crumb Cake background underneath. I ran the Marina Mist card stock through the Big Shot using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. Then, I stamped the word with "So Happy for You" from SAB and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. It is mounted on a piece of Marina Mist punched with the Modern Label Punch. Last, I added a wide striped Marina Mist ribbon with a knot in the middle.
