Summer Cookin'

This cute apron was made by Debbie--thanks so much! It was cut into this shape with a Crumb Cake medium envelope that was run through the Big Shot with the Flower Garden Embossing Folder. If you look carefully, you can see the packet of seeds on the inside. The background paper is from Beyond the Garden, the flowers from "Fabulous Florets", and the words from "Word Play". Colors used are Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight. The Scallop Edge Punch, 1/8" Circle Punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, and 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch were also used. Last, a 3/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon (knotted on both ends) was pulled through the two small holes on the top. How cute is this?

Daisy Daisy

I colored these flowers from "Hello Blossoms" with Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz markers. Then, I punched Basic Black circles with the 1/4" and 1/2" Circle Punches and adhered them to the centers of the daisies. I tied a Basic Black Striped Grosgrain ribbon around the card and then I layered the image on Daffodil Delight card stock that I ran through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

Just Add Cake

This new DSP "Just Add Cake" has twelve different designs and coordinates with everything! I used the "Pennant Parade" stamp set and the Petite Pennants Builder Punch to make this card. I punched 1/8" holes in the top of each pennant and strung them with a Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. The trim toward the bottom is made with Dotted Scallop ribbon Border Punch.

So, A Needle Pulling Thread

I've been in a sewing slump lately. I guess it's both a good thing (I've been making lots of cards) and a bad thing (my sewing pile is getting higher and higher). When I do sew, I usually am piecing a quilt together, but I rarely make something for the house. We had a window in our guest bathroom that needed help. I recently made a car seat canopy for a friend's baby and loved this fabric so much, I went back and bought more. So, here it is. I have boring white towels with little black stripes, but I'm on the hunt for some chic black and white damask ones. If you spot any, please do tell.

The Day You Were Born

This is a new hostess set called "Happiest Birthday Wishes". There are eleven different images and this one fits in the Extra Large Oval Punch. I stamped it in Riding Hood Red. Then, I mounted it on a piece of Baja Breeze made with the Decorative Label Punch. The So Saffron background was made with the Big Shot using the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder. Last, I added a Riding Hood Red 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (yes, it's back!).

Delicate Doilies

"Delicate Doilies" is a beautiful new set featuring four different doilies. I stamped some of them twice, punched them out with circle punches, then popped them up with Dimensionals. Colors used were Pool Party (new), Peach Parfait, and Crumb Cake. I made the Whisper White trim using the new Lace Ribbon Border Punch and layered it over a strip of Crumb Cake. Last, I added a Pumpkin Pie Button tied with a piece of Linen Thread.

Pennant Parade

Here's a card using the new Petite Pennants Builder Punch (two separate layering pieces) and stamp set called "Pennant Parade". I used Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink. The background was made using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I used the 1/16" Circle Punch and wove White Baker's Twine through the holes on the pennants. I added a Whisper White Button, Pretty in Pink Brad, and a 5/8" Pretty in Pink Ribbon.

Sneak Peek Deux

Here's another sneak peek of the new catalog--it's called "My Friend". I stamped it in the new color Pool Party and also Chocolate Chip. I used Crystal Effects on the raindrops and added a Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon (also new). The background of the card was made with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder. Check back on Thursday for another sneak peek.

Thanks Times Three

This card was made using a stamp from "Pretty Postage". I colored the image with Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Early Espresso markers. I mounted it on Pretty in Pink card stock punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and then on Early Espresso punched with the Scallop Square Punch. The background paper is from "Nursery Suite" DSP (retiring) and the trim was made with Early Espresso card stock using the Eyelet Border Punch. Last, I added a Flower Brad and some Pretty in Pink 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (also retiring).

Sneaky Peeky

It's true . . . I'm in love . . . with this new stamp set, "Delicate Doilies". This adorable set will be available in the new catalog that begins July 1. I stamped the images in Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, and Melon Mambo. The Pumpkin Pie piece was made with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and the gray strip with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The Melon Mambo doily is from the new "Flirtatious DSP". The words are from "Curly Cute" and I attached them to the doily using Silver Brads.

Love & Care

This new hostess set called "Love & Care" is from the Summer Mini. It has several different flowers to choose from and is so soft and pretty. I used Certainly Celery and Marina Mist markers to color the stem and flower on Very Vanilla card stock and added some spots with the Color Spritzer Tool. I mounted the image on a background made using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. Then, I stamped the words and punched them out with the Large Oval Punch and mounted that on a piece of Certainly Celery punched with the Scallop Oval XL Punch. Last, I tied a Marina Mist 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon around the card--it opens like a book. Watch Friday's post for a sneak peek of the new 2011-2012 Catalog.

Party Hearty

One of my favorite sets, "Party Hearty" is retiring at the end of the month and I'm sad. I decided to take it out of hiding and use some bright colors: Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, and Daffodil Delight. I punched out the little present with the 3/4" Circle Punch and popped it up with a Dimensional. I added a 5/8" Daffodil Delight ribbon (also retiring) and some trim with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.

Circles

I saw this on a blog and just had to make it. It actually was one of the quickest, simplest cards I've made lately. I used "Hello Blossoms" to make the stems for the flowers and then punched circles with the 3/4", 1/2" and 1/4" Circle Punches and popped a couple of them up with Dimensionals. Colors used were Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, and Pear Pizzazz. I used the "Pretty Postage" set for the words and the Postage Stamp Punch for the border. The background papers are from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack and the ribbon is Pear Pizzazz 1/2" Stitched Poly-Ribbon.

Summer Splash

These cool surfboards from "Summer Splash" were colored with Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, and Pumpkin Pie markers. I popped up the image with Dimensionals and then mounted it on a piece of Pacific Point card stock that I ran through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I wrapped a piece of 5/8" Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon around the Bashful Blue card and tied it with some White Baker's Twine. The words are from "A Touch of Kindness" and punched out with the Oval Large Punch and mounted on a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock punched with the Scallop Oval XL Punch. I used a Pumpkin Pie marker and the Color Spritzer tool to add a little color to the words. The fish in the background were made using the "Fish Frenzy" wheel.
