I Scream for Ice Cream

Check out this new stamp set from SU called "Sweet Scoops"! It's in the Summer Mini Catalog which starts May 1. This card was made using Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, and Whisper White. I popped up the scoops using dimensionals and used the Scallop Edge Punch for the trim. On this card I used Gable Green, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla. Doesn't it look yummy with the chocolate sprinkles?

Forever Plaid

Here are some pictures of my "Ode to Jo" quilt from start to finish. This quilt was made from plaid flannel I collected over two years. I cut all the strips first . . . . . . then cut them into different lengths and sewed them together.
Finally, it was quilted and bound. I gave it to my much missed son, Jorden, when he finally came home from Korea. Today is his 22nd birthday--Happy Birthday Jo!

They're Back!

Doesn't this card just make you happy inside? Probably not as elated as I was when I found out "Baja Breeze" and "Riding Hood Red" were returning colors from Stampin' Up! beginning in July. Oh...how I've missed you and others (Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette) soon to be my friends again!

Apron Strings

I've been busy making aprons from Charm Packs (5" x 5" squares cut in half). They are lined and also have a thin layer of batting. If you look carefully, you can see the matching binding around all the edges. Wouldn't this make a nice Mother's Day gift? Contact me if you are interested in purchasing one.

Boy or Girl ... Blue or Pink?

No, I don't have an announcement (and neither does my daughter), but I just wanted to share these cute baby cards. They are made from the set "Nursery Necessities". The white card stock has embossed dots that are a little hard to see. I created them with my Big Shot using the Small Dots template. Colors used are Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, and Pretty in Pink. I added a touch of matching taffeta ribbon.

Hushabye

This small quilt (33" x 40") was made from a Moda Charm Pack (5" x 5" squares) called "Hushabye". It was quick and easy to make and is a great size for either a wall hanging or a crib quilt. Doesn't it look soft?

I'm Booking

Do you ever wonder what you can do with old paperback books? Here's a couple of ideas for cards using the Scallop Circle Punch (five layers stacked) and...
...the Scallop Edge Punch (six layers alternating). Enjoy!

Hat Trick

I love to make hats! They knit up quickly and can be made in many different styles and sizes. I just happened to find two models for these--my grandsons. How cute are they?

Happy Birthday x Two

I must be in the birthday mood. I know several people with April birthdays and I love bright colors. The above card was made using the set "Birthday Bliss" and a 1 1/4" circle punch. Ink and card stock colors are Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, and Crushed Curry.
"Happy Moments" and "Well Scripted" were used with Pixie Pink, Chocolate Chip, and polka-dot paper from the Sweet Pea 12x12 pack. The top and bottom presents were stamped and colored with a marker. The middle present is a piece of card stock stamped and cut to fit.

Wooden Spools

This quilt hangs above the door in my laundry/sewing room in Arizona. I made it last year and this was the only big space left to hang it. I think it had a million pieces--or so it seemed!

Beautiful Wings

Don't you love butterflies in the spring? I punched out these butterflies (from the SU 12x12 Sweet Pea Paper Stack) on my Big Shot using the "Beautiful Wings" embosslits die. The background stamp is called "A to Z" and is only available until April 30. The circles were punched from card stock vellum using the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and the bottom of the card was decorated with the Scallop Edge Punch. I mounted everything on Kraft card stock and popped up the butterflies with a dimensional in the middle. It's hard to see, but I folded and the bent the wings upward toward the center of each butterfly.

Basket Case

Here's some of the Easter baskets I made out of fabric.
Someone thinks his basket of diapers is just boring--bring on the jelly beans!
This little bunny fast asleep, do you like his hat? I actually made it for Blake two years ago.

Hippity Hoppity Happy Easter Day!

It's a little early, but I just had to post these Easter cards for everybunny to see! The first one is made from the SU stamp sets "Pick a Petal", "Good Friend", "Teeny Tiny Wishes", and "Eggcoutrements". I used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Whisper White. The second one was made with "Chocolate Bunny" and "Well Scripted". Colors used are Chocolate Chip (I embossed the bunny), Pretty in Pink, and Whisper White. Sorry it's not real chocolate!
