It's almost that time. . . 2012 is fading fast.

I Heart Whales
Hot off the press (or the ink pad) from the new Spring Mini Catalog (see link on the right)! I'm totally in love with this set called "Oh, Whale!" and its coordinating Happy Whale Clearlits Die. I stamped the whales in Pacific Point, punched them out, and then popped them up with Dimensionals. The background paper is from the Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP Collection. I added some trim at the bottom made with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and some new Melon Mambo 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon. This reminds me of my college days when whales were all the rage. You will be seeing them again!

Seriously?
Christmas just isn't the same without snow. This actually made me laugh when I saw these decorations in our neighborhood.

Ornaments Squared
I made this card using "Ornament Keepsakes" and the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. I stamped them in Riding Hood Red and Crumb Cake and popped both the centers and the ornaments up with Dimensionals. I tied Crumb Cake and Riding Hood Red 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon around the ornaments. The words are from "Sweet Essentials". I used the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder with the coordinating Large Scallop Edgelits Die to make the bottom of the card. Last, I mounted it on a Crumb Cake card base made with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

Holy Button
I know, the button is a little large--but it matched! This cute little gingerbread man is from "Scentsational Season" and stamped in Soft Suede. I cut him out on the Big Shot with the coordinating Holiday Collection Framelits Dies and popped his little body up with Dimensionals. I used the Scallop Square Duo Die to make the Gumball Green Frame. The background paper is from the Be of Good Cheer DSP Collection and I used the Chevron Embossing Folder on the Cherry Cobbler card base. Last, I tied 1/8" Gumball Green Ribbon through the ginormous button (found in my stash--probably from last year's Holiday Mini).

Snow Swirled
This is one of my favorite older Christmas sets! "Snow Swirled" has six different images including snowflakes, a Christmas tree, and two sentiments. I stamped this with Real Red and Gumball Green. Then, I added two rows of scalloped trim made with the Adorning Accents Edgelits and some Gumball Green ribbon. This was one of the fastest cards I've ever made, but I love its simplicity.

Which Wreath?
Which Christmas wreath do you like better--the white or the red? I just can't decide, which makes it hard to give one away. I made these similar to my fall wreath, only I covered the straw wreaths (leaving the plastic wrappers on) with yarn. I wrapped the yarn around and around and it took FOREVER! I recommend stopping for a chocolate break whilst working on this project.

Merry & Type
I haven't used this set, "Merry & Type", since last Christmas. It's so cute, I just had to make a card. I stamped the ornaments and words with Cherry Cobbler and then embossed the oval around the words with the Designer Frames Folder. I cut that out and popped it up with Dimensionals. Then, I added a Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon and mounted it on a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock.

Another Snowflake
I must be in the snowflake mood lately, here's another one--even though it's around 78 degrees outside. How I miss the snow at Christmas time! This was made with the "Four Seasons" set. I heat embossed it with Silver Emboss Powder and punched it out with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch. Then, I stamped the center with Marina Mist and punched that out with 1" Circle Punch. The background was made with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder. I layered the Whisper White on Brushed Silver card stock and then on Marina Mist card stock. Last, I added a 3/8" Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon.

Bold Snowflake
This single stamp called "Bold Snowflake" coordinates with the Blossom Punch! I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler, punched it, and popped it up with Dimensionals. I used Be of Good Cheer DSP for the background and added a Rich Regals button (Garden Green) with some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine. Last, I tied on some Victoria Lace Ribbon. Fast & easy!

What I've Been Up To
Meet my newest friend--an antique hemstitching machine! I bought this and the "business" in May and we have spent hours together ever since. It punches and reinforces tiny holes around flannel so people can crochet around them to make beautiful baby blankets and burp cloths.
I have customers bring over flannel, purchase my flannel, and I also mail orders out of state.
I did my first holiday boutique (craft fair) a couple of week ago. Above are sets hemstitched and ready to crochet. Below are sets already crocheted and ready for gift giving.
Here's a picture of my booth. After hours of hemstitching and packing, I actually unloaded it had it set up in less than an hour.
Here's the best part--my daughter has designed an awesome website for my business. Below is a preview picture from that site and the link. Please check it out and feel free to contact me if you are in need of a cute baby gift. It's: http://www.heirloomhemstitching.com/

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I can't take credit for this--my daughter made it. Let us all give THANKS!

Make a Mitten
This stamp set, "Make a Mitten", has ten different images including mitten parts. It coordinates perfectly with the Mitten Builder Punch. The words are from "Chock-Full of Cheer" and the background paper is from the Be of Good Cheer DSP Collection. I used Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and a Regals Brad to connect the mittens. Last, I added some Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon to the bottom.

Merry Go Round
I finally got some pictures of this quilt I made last spring called "Merry Go Round". I tried putting in on the floor and standing on a chair, but I couldn't fit it all in. I guess I needed a ladder. So, if you look carefully, you can see my husband's fingers holding it up for me. I used a Jelly Roll (40 strips cut 2 1/2" x 44"). I sewed two strips together at a time, and then cut them with a 60 degree ruler. Then, I put six of these triangles together to form a hexagon. I sewed the hexagons in rows and then the rows together to make the quilt. The hardest part was binding around the hexagons on the sides.

Snowflake Soiree
I made this card using "Snowflake Soiree" from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I stamped the snowflakes and word in silver and then used Silver Embossing Powder and my heat tool to raise the design. I mounted it first on Brushed Silver card stock and then popped it up with Dimensionals on Whisper White card stock. Last, I added a 3/8" Whisper white Taffeta Ribbon.

Shower
Love these colors together--Tempting Turquoise and Poppy Parade. I recently attended a bridal shower and talked to the bride's mom beforehand about making thank you cards as a gift. She thought it was a great idea and I was excited when she told me her colors were turquoise and poppy. I made ten of each style and put them in a white photo storage box. Of course, I wrapped it with matching paper and included a coordinating card.

Heart of Christmas
This single stamp called "Heart of Christmas" fits perfectly with the Labels Collections Framelits. I used Real Red, Early Espresso, and Lucky Limeade. The background was made with the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP and the tree from one of the punches from the Merry Minis Punch Pack. Last, I added 3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon.
11.02.2012
Pink, Black, and Gray
I stamped these images from "Just Believe" with Jet Black Stazon Ink on First Edition Specialty DSP. I mounted it on Melon Mambo card stock and added some Basic Black trim made with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. Then, mounted that on Basic Gray and added two little banners using some paper from the Designer Series Paper Stacks. Last, I added a Basic Black button.

Fall Wreath (what a catchy title)
I've been trying to make this wreath for a month and finally got it done! I got the idea from one my daughter had made all in yellow flowers (or Summer Sun as I call it). I decided to use several fall colors and alternate them--this way I can use the wreath for October and November (not that we really have fall in Arizona). Anyway, I bought the bare wreath at Michael's and then made the flowers out of felt. I used a DVD for a pattern, cut them in a spiral shape from the outside going in, rolled them up, and hot glued them onto the wreath. It was easy--just time consuming.

Christmas Wishes
Isn't this an adorable stamp from the hostess set "Christmas Wishes"? I stamped the trees in Gumball Green, cut them out, and popped them up with Dimensionals. I used the Top Note Die to cut the background shape using some Be of Good Cheer DSP. I placed that on Whisper White card stock made with the with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I also added three little white stars made with the Merry Minis star punch. Last, I mounted the card on Gumball Green card stock and added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

HB
Yes, it's that time of year again! Love this card that I found early in my mailbox. It was made with Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight from the Polka Dot Parade DSP collection. The cake and words are from "Embellished Events". Thanks Kathee for a way cute birthday card!

Merry Minis Take two
This was a fast and easy Christmas card to make! I used Real Red, Daffodil Delight, and Gumball Green to stamp the images from "Merry Minis". I punched them out with the coordinating Merry Minis Punch Pack, then mounted them on Whisper White card stock using the 1" Square Punch. I repeated the same colors to make the borders with the Scallop Square Punch and popped them up with Dimensionals. I used the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and stamped "Merry Christmas" from "Sassy Salutations" to make the background Last, I added a Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.
10.18.2012
Evergreen
I just love this tree and this set called "Evergreen". It has three different tree images, a sentiment, and a star. I stamped the tree in Gumball Green and then with the outline using the Platinum Shimmer Paint. I also used the paint on the star. I rounded the corners using the 3/16" Corner Punch. The card was made with Early Espresso card stock and DSP from the Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks (Marina Mist, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple). Last, I added a Marina Mist 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

Seasonal Sayings
You can buy this adorable Christmas word stamp from the set "Seasonal Sayings" by itself for a limited time! Stampin' Up! is offering three different stamp sets broken down as "singles". This bulb from "Ornament Keepsakes" was stamped in Gumball Green and then cut with Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. I added stome Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with the 2-Way Glue Pen. The background paper is from the Be of Good Cheer collection (my personal favorite). I made the trim with Raspberry Ripple card stock using the Adorning Accents Edgelits and the coordinating Adorning Accents Embossing Folders. Last, I used Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.
10.11.2012
Star Tree
This single stamp from the big catalog is called "Star Tree" and is only $9.95. I stamped it with Whisper White craft ink on Midnight Muse card stock. I mounted it on Whisper White and then again on a background made with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. I added a piece of Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and then some Basic Pearls to the tree. Simple and quick!
10.09.2012
Autumn Accents
This time it's just Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake (I know, you were expecting some Daffodil Delight or Melon Mambo.) I made the background texture with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I added a little First Edition Specialty DSP and then cut the leaves out with the Autumn Accents Die. I brushed the edges of the leaves with the Crumb Cake ink pad and layered them on the card using Dimensionals. Last, I tied some Linen Thread around the card to finish it off.

Oh Boy, Oh Boy
I'm so lucky--I got to go to two of my grandson's soccer games.
This is his first year and his team is called "The Smurfs".
Deep concentration--he's probably figuring out the angle of the ball and then the velocity.
For more entertainment we picked up the little bug from preschool--hilarious, all these ladybugs walking down the hall. Look at that proud line leader!
He even let me take his picture!
I'm still laughing! Ultimate cuteness!
