SAB Sneak Peek

Sale-a-Bration is coming in January!  I already have some cute, new things from the SAB mini catalog and just have to share.  This was made with the new set "Best Day Ever" and coordinating Best Year Ever DSP and Accessory Pack.  These can all be earned (but not purchased) by spending $50 (before shipping & tax) on regular merchandise in the big catalog and/or Occasions Mini (coming soon).

Banner Blessings

Here's another card using "Banner Blessings" that is now available to purchase.  This set contains four different word sets and is so cute!  I stamped the words in Night of Navy and the splatters from Gorgeous Grunge in Crushed Curry.  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, pulled a Hello Honey ribbon through the slot, and tied a knot on the side.  The background paper is from the Flowerpot DSP Collection.

Is it too early?

I know this might look a little "valentiney" but it could also be used as a wedding card.  I wanted to make a card that didn't say "merry" or "thanks" like the other ones I've made from "Seasonally Scattered" before it retires at the end of the month.   I stamped "LOVE" in Strawberry Slush on Whisper White and adhered it on the inside of the card.  I used a Strawberry Slush card base and cut a window using a framelit from Apothecary Accents.  Then, I tied a piece of Strawberry Slush Thick Baker's Twine through the window and around the card.  I made a 1 1/4" Scallop Circle, punched a little heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack in the middle, and tied that around the other twine.  The background was made using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.

2015 is Just Around the Corner

Last night I was able to attend my second catalog premiere along with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators in the Phoenix area!  We were in a movie theater and watched a live broadcast as SU staff revealed the Occasions Mini and the Sale-a-Bration Catalogs along with many new samples and projects.  It was so fun cheering with the audience each time they introduced something new.  It was broadcast in about 40 theaters across the US and Canada and here's a picture of the movie screen (the only picture that turned out).  I will be posting new card ideas soon from these catalogs--so stay tuned!

More Feathers

I just can't get enough of this set and I'm worried that once the Holiday Mini ends, this set will be gone for good.  I used "Four Feathers" and the coordinating framelits to cut them out.  I stamped them in Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake and put a Tea Lace Doily underneath.  The background was made with Lovely Lace Embossing Folder on Whisper White card stock.  I added some Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon, a button, and some Linen Thread.

11.25.2014

Something Different

I saw something like this and just had to make it!  I used  "Four Feathers" and the matching Feathers Framelits from the Holiday Mini and stamped them in Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana, and Basic Black.  The words are from "A Dozen Thoughts" and the background paper is from the Back to Black DSP collection. Last,  I added some sequins, some Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine, and a Tea Lace Paper Doily.

11.21.2014

Brand New

Hot off the press!  "Banner Blessings" is a brand new photopolymer set just released.  It has four different words which each include a different scripture on the banner.  I stamped the words in Old Olive and made the splatters with "Gorgeous Grunge" in Cajun Craze.  The background DSP is from the Color Me Autumn collection in the Holiday Mini.  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, pulled a Hello Honey ribbon through the slot, and tied a knot on the side.

11.17.2014

Merry

I'm STILL loving this set "Seasonally Scattered" and it is STILL my favorite in the Holiday Mini.  I stamped this in Versamark on a Crumb Cake card and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  Then, I colored in the letters using a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.  I added some Frosted Sequins with the 2-Way Glue Pen and tied a 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon around the top.  Last, I rounded the corners with the Corner Rounder Punch.

11.13.2014

Heartfelt Home

I just love the look of these leaves stamped on the Typeset DSP.  I used Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and Crushed Curry.  The leaves and words were stamped from "For All Things".   I cut the little house from the Homemade Holiday Framelits Dies and popped it up with Dimensionals.  The background was made with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

11.10.2014

3D

I made this cute little tree with the "Festival of Trees" set.  I stamped two of them in Lost Lagoon, punched them out with the Tree Punch, flipped one over, and stamped it again.  Then, I scored it down the middle, folded it, and used the 2-Way Glue Pen to attach the center of it to the other tree.  I punched the circle out of Silver Glimmer Paper with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  I layered that on a Tea Lace Paper Doily and tied a Lost Lagoon 3/8" Silky Ribbon underneath it.  I stamped the words from "Endless Wishes" in Metallic Silver Ink on the All is Calm DSP.  Colleen is the winner of the "fall hodgepodge" of stamping goodies!

11.06.2014

700th Post

This card is a hodgepodge of:  "Work of Art" for the chevrons, "Good Greetings" for the words, "Gorgeous Grunge" for the background, Fun Fall Framelits, 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon, and Linen Thread.  Colors used were:  Crumb Cake (card base), Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive.  Leave me a comment by Sunday night and your name will be put in a drawing to win a "fall hodgepodge" of stampin' supplies.

Halloween Recap

Halloween started with trunk or treat the week before, Halloween parades at the elementary and preschool, and ended with a warm, perfect night for trick-or-treating.  Here's the cop and robbers.  Boy, is it hard to get a picture of four kids.  My favorite is the littlest thief--he slept through most of the hoopla!  More card ideas and a giveaway coming soon.

Trick or Treat

I made these treats recently for one of my classes.  I used the Fry Box and Autumn Accents Dies with Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango, and Old Olive card stock.  I attached the leaves with the mini clothespins.  They're not the best quality pictures, but you get the idea.

10.27.2014

A Little Bit Country

More Trim the Tree DSP!  This card was made using the words from "Festival of Trees" and the Tree Punch (available as a bundle).  I used Crumb Cake as the card base and tied a Real Red 3/8"Satin Woven Ribbon around it.  The stars at the bottom of the tree were made with the new Confetti Starts Punch.  Maybe I should have sprinkled the punched out ones all over the card?

One of the Best Presents Ever!

I've had some great birthday presents over the years (many years), but this one takes the cake!  I thought last year's was great, but this flag arrived from my sister just in time for my birthday and the big rivalry game tomorrow.  Although I will be watching it long distance among other MSU alumni and fans (yes, I've taught my grandsons the MSU Fight Song) I will be there in spirit.  GO GREEN!

10.22.2014

Lost Lagoon

I made this fast and easy card using Lost Lagoon card stock and coordinating 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon.  I punched out the wreath from the All is Calm DSP using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits and made the background with the On Point Embossing Folder.  Last, I added some Frosted Sequins.  Done!

10.20.2014

Cheerful Tags

This cute set called "Cheerful Tags" contains seven different stamps.  I stamped the words in Cherry Cobbler and the trees in Garden Green.  I punched them out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  The adorable background papers are from the Under the Tree DSP collection .  I tied some Whisper White Bakers Twine under the popped up circle and stapled a couple of banners at the bottom.  Easy Peasy!

Little Pumpkin

DSC_0245.jpg

Here's our newest little pumpkin-straight from the pumpkin patch!  Meet Finn, our darling grandson who is already a month old.  Below are his three big brothers who also enjoyed going to the pumpkin patch.  I'm one lucky grandma to be able to spend this fun time of year with them!

10.13.2014

Plaid or Snowflakes?

Here's a "under five minutes" card to make!  I stamped the words in Cherry Cobbler with "Merry Everything" a sent that contains five different tags.  I punched them out with the Note Tag Punch--the set and punch are available as a bundle to save you 15%.  The background papers are from the Trim the Tree Paper Stack (48 double-sided sheets that are 4 1/2" x 6 1/2").  Last, I added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

10.09.2014

Silver & Gold

I made this pretty card using the "Wondrous Wreath" set.  I stamped the first stamp (leaves) in Silver Metallic Ink, then the second one (more leaves) Gold Metallic Ink.  I stamped the holly berries in Versamark and heat embossed them using White Embossing Powder.  I stamped the silver dots using "Dotty Angles" and the "MERRY" is from "Cheerful Tags".  I added some 1/8" Silver Ribbon around the wreath and mounted the card on Brushed Silver card stock and then again on Whisper White card stock.

10.06.2014

Christmas Bliss

This is a limited edition photopolymer stamp set called "Christmas Bliss".  It has many different holiday words and images and here are a couple of them.  I stamped the words in Real Red and put it on a Pear Pizzazz card.  I stamped the background ornaments with Versamark Ink.  I added a Nordic Designer Button from the Holiday Mini tied with some Whisper White Baker's Twine.

10.02.2014

Merry: Take Two

Here's another card from the "Seasonally Scattered" set.  I stamped it in Bermuda Bay and mounted it on some Brushed Silver card stock.  I stamped "Christmas" from the "Endless Wishes" set below MERRY.  Then, I used the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder to make the background on the Bermuda Bay base.  Last, I added a Basic Metal Button with some Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine.

9.29.2014

Cheerful Christmas

This is my second favorite set from the Holiday Mini.  In addition to this cute greeting, it also includes a nordic style snowflake and three Christmas ornaments.  I stamped it in Real Red and mounted it on a Garden Green base.  The background was made with the Filigree Frame Embossing Folder.  We're making this one at class on October 4!

9.26.2014

Wondrous Wreath

This stamp set called "Wondrous Wreath" and matching Wonderful Wreath Framelits can be purchased together as a discounted bundle.  I stamped the wreath in Pear Pizzazz and the berries and words in Real Red.  I cut the wreath out with the coordinating framelits and the words using the Banners Framelits.  Then, I made the background using the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder.  The bow was made using the new Real Red 3/8" Satin Woven Ribbon.

9.23.2014

Merry: Take One

My favorite stamp set from the Holiday Mini is called "Seasonally Scattered".  It contains three stamps:  "MERRY", "LOVE", and "THANKS".   I inked it in Smoky Slate and then used a Night of Navy marker over the top on the edges of the letters.  After I stamped it, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.   I added a 5/8" Whisper White Satin ribbon and then mounted it on Night of Navy and Brushed Silver card stock.  Watch for more card ideas from this way cute stamp set.

9.18.2014

Tree

"Festival of Trees" has six different trees, two trims, some decorations, and several different words to choose from.  The best thing is--it has a coordinating punch!  I stamped it in Garden Green and Real Red and added some Crystal Effects to the little ornaments to make them pop.  The background was made with the On Point Embossing Folder and I added some Whisper White ink to the triangles.  Last, I used the new Real Red 3/8" Satin Woven Ribbon and some snowflakes from the Frosted Sequins pack.

9.15.2014

Four Feathers

This set contains four different feathers and has a masculine/nature look.  It also has a coordinating framelits set to make cutting easy.  I stamped the feathers in Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, and Pool Party and added some speckles from "Gorgeous Grunge".  I stamped the word with the "Good Greetings" set and I added some Linen Thread and a Crumb Cake button to finish it off.

Thirty Years!

Another celebration was observed this week--my daughter turned the big 3-0!  She wasn't exactly looking forward to this milestone, but her husband set up an awesome evening with dinner, dessert, and downtown on last day of her 20s!  Can you imagine her surprise when this pulled into her driveway with her girlfriends aboard?   Happy Birthday Lindsey!  (I just had to copy this picture from her blog to show the beginning of the fun-filled evening.)  Check back for new cards to be posted this week!

Fifty Years!

Here's to my sister and brother-in-law who just celebrated their 50th anniversary!  I would like to say I wasn't born yet, but I actually was their flower girl (even though I was just learning to walk--kidding).  We had a family celebration at the beginning of August and last night (the actual date) we went out to an early dinner and then attended our high school football game.  Did I mention it is the high school in Michigan that has won the most games ever?

I asked ahead of time to have them announce it on the loud speaker during the game (so as to embarrass them) and my brother brought in a concealed bottle of non-alcoholic champagne which we drank from paper cups.  We won the game by one touchdown against the other number #1 team in the state and then it started to rain.  Of course, I stood out in the rain to watch the band do the post-game show "Red and White".  I still know every note and every step, but glad I didn't have to march in the downpour.  Then, it was down to the tunnel to see them march through with the echoing sounds of massive percussion. What I was getting around to is the card I made:

On Vacay

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth--just traveled to the other side of it. July wasn't the best month for us.  Both cars broke down on the same day (it was 110 degrees out), I was sick for a few days which resulted in being hospitalized for a couple of days (I'm okay now), got stung by a scorpion, prepared night and day for a big hemstitching event at my house, found a rattlesnake lounging at my front door, and got ready and packed up for a month away from home.  I will be sharing more cards and quilts soon, but for now I am living it up with my darling little beach bums.

7.19.2014

Endless Birthday Wishes Part Deux

Here's another one from the same adorable set "Endless Birthday Wishes".  This time I used Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon.  The background paper is from the Moonlight Paper Stack and matches the spots from the stamp as well.  I topped it off with some Basic Gray Baker's Twine.

7.16.2014

Endless Birthday Wishes

This cute new set (available in photopolymer) comes with 27 different pieces--but get it while you can.  Once Stampin' Up! is out of stock, it is gone for good.  You can put some of the words together on a block like I did and stamp those as a background.  I stamped the cake and then cut it out with the Banners Framelits.  The top of the card was made with Dotty Angles. Everything was done in just two colors:  Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay.

7.13.2014

Break from Stamping

I decided to take a short card break and post these pictures of the cupboard I just reorganized.  As you can see here, it's a mess.  The two top shelves had lots of random  sewing stuff in the bins.  I took the top two bins out, sorted everything, put it in smaller containers (from The Dollar Tree), and labeled them.  I went through the ribbon bins and sorted and reorganized those too.  Here's the "before" . . .
. . . and the "after".  Now I can find exactly what I need without searching through a whole bin.

7.10.2014

Everything Eleanor

Isn't this soooo pretty?  Ellen is the guest poster today and made this card using the set "Everything Eleanor".  She added some touches with Gorgeous Grunge and bling with some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  Anyone interested in guest posting during August, please email me your idea (all SU products please).  Thanks Ellen!

7.07.2014

Confetti Celebration

...and yet another with "Work Of Art".  I know, I'm just a little obsessed with this set, but isn't it so dang cute and versatile?  I used Hello Honey and Basic Gray and this DSP is from the Confetti Celebration collection.  During the month of July all $10.95 packages of DSP are buy three packs and get one for FREE!

7.03.2014

Happy Independence Day!

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Dotty Angles

I used the circles from the set "Dotty Angles" in a previous post and here are two cards using the triangles.  They make a great background and also add cuteness to a card.  The words were stamped in Lost Lagoon and are from the hostess set "Let Your Hair Down".  I used the background paper from the Flowerpot DSP collection and the Pansy and Petite Petals Punches to make the flowers.  The first one is stamped with and mounted on Crumb Cake.  The second one I stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and mounted on Night of Navy.  Which one do you like better?
