Parade of the Poppies & Give Away

Here's some poppies in a row from the SAB set "Punch Bunch". I used Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, and Daffodil Delight. Then I punched out the popped up round part with the Scallop Circle Punch and tied a 3/8" Daffodil Delight Ribbon underneath. The background paper is from the Patterns Designer Paper Stack.

Leave a comment between now and Thursday night and I'll put your name in a drawing for a free spool of 1 1/4" Marina Mist Striped Ribbon.

Punchy

I used the Sale-a-Bration set called "Punch Bunch" to make this card. I stamped the Happy Birthday punch three times with Melon Mambo and then punched it out with the Scallop Square Punch. In the middle of the card I used the 1 3/8" Square Punch and adhered the image through the "window" on the inside of the card. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch on the Pacific Point card stock along the top of the card. The background DSP and Ribbon (Ice Cream Parlor) are also from the SAB Mini.

Valentine Defined

I used the new DSP called Love Impressions for this background--don't you just love red and gray together? It has a strip of Real Red trim from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch on each side of the Basic Gray card. The words are from "Valentine Defined" and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. I added a Basic Gray button and put them on a 2 1/2" Real Red Circle with a 5/8" Satin Real Red Ribbon underneath.

Heart Strings

Even though this isn't done in the traditional Valentine colors, I thought I would share it. This stamp set is called "Valentine Defined" and I have been making lots of cards with it--watch for more posts from this same set. I used Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, and Pretty in Pink. I cut out the letters and popped them up with Dimensionals. I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch on the pink and the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder on the base.

Eat Chocolate

Another cute set "Eat Chocolate" is featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog. There are four different stamps with words and/or images about "chocolate". I used Basic Black, Melon Mambo, and Very Vanilla. I ran the card base through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and then used the Decorative Label Punch which fits perfectly around these words. I stamped the cupcakes again black and then cut them out and popped them up with Dimensionals. Then I mounted this piece on a black circle I punched out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch. I used a Melon Mambo button from the Sweet Stitches Designer Big Button Pack and threaded it with 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon. Last, I used the new Pompom Trim (available in three colors) and a piece of Basic Black Striped Wide Grosgrain Ribbon.

Bring on the Cake

This cute birthday stamp set "Bring on the Cake" has 13 different celebration stamps. This particular one is unique because you can color in the age of the person receiving the card. I used Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pacific Point, and Daffodil Delight. The DSP and matching buttons are called Ice Cream Parlor from Sale-a-Bration. I have a new way to make this ribbon look like it has been sewn on--coming soon to a class near you!

Sweet Stitches

This new, colorful DSP, Sweet Stitches, has twelve different designs including buttons, decorative stitching, pattern pieces, flowers, and sewing machines. There are also large coordinating brads that match this paper, designer fabric, a jumbo wheel (stamped here as the background), and two new stamp sets. I punched a 1 3/4" Scallop Circle out of Melon Mambo and ran it through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder then mounted it on a 1" circle of Daffodil Delight. The Tempting Turquoise trim was made with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The words from "Curly Cute" are stamped in Early Espresso.

Create a Cupcake

Don't you just love pink and brown together? The new set "Create a Cupcake" has a coordinating punch to make the parts of a cupcake. I used the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart Punch along with a Basic Pearl. Then, I layered these on Whisper White that was punched with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle XL Punch and Pretty in Pink punched with the 2 1/2" Circle XL Punch. The Whisper White background was run through the Big Shot using the new Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and adhered to a Chocolate Chip card. The words are from "Word Play". Thanks to Kathy (my stamping buddy from Ohio) for this inspiration!

Baby Blossoms

"Baby Blossoms" is a darling new stamp set with 18 different pieces. There are lots of little flowers and leaves, but also this cute frame. This new, coordinating DSP called Springtime Vintage reminds of the bedsheets I had as a child. I used Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red, and Very Vanilla. I ran both the card and the piece I punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I punched out the trim with Eyelet Border Punch to give it a vintage edge. Finally, I added two Very Vanilla Jumbo Brads.

Bold Blossom--Take Two

Oh how I love yellow! I could paint my walls yellow (oh, I did) to cheer up the place. That's what I think about yellow cards--they make you happy! I also think the Daffodil Delight goes nicely with Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizzazz, and Tangerine Tango. I cut out the butterflies from "Bold Blossom" and popped them up with Dimensionals. I used Tangerine Tango from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack and the Scallop Edge Border Punch for the trim. Then, along the middle piece I stitched a line with my sewing machine. Finally, I added a pop of yellow with the button.

After I stamped the words, I used the 2 1/2" Circle Punch and the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle XL Punch and popped it up with Dimensionals. Last, I added colorful buttons from the Sweet Stitches Designer Big Buttons bag.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and may 2011 be a great year! I have been following a blog in which the writer and her husband created 52 different dates each Friday night during 2010. "Project 52" described many simple ideas such as putting a puzzle together, making and eating homemade ice cream, and playing board games. She and her husband took turns planning the activities one week at a time.

I kept thinking about this and decided to adapt the "52" concept in 2011 to set goals. It happens to correspond with my age (yikes), so it has to be a sign. Anyway, here are some things I am going to try to accomplish this year: Reorganize 52 things in the house, learn 52 songs/hymns on the piano (without mistakes), watch 52 favorite movies (on DVD), write 52 journal entries, and many more. I've made a grid sheet with 52 lines for each week. There is also a space for the specific goal and the date accomplished.

If anyone is interested in jumping on board and sharing ideas, goals, or results--please let me know and we'll do it together. Let the fun begin!
